Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 28, 2026
budgetinview ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains
what information we collect through the BudgetInView mobile application (the "App"), how we
use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Who we are
BudgetInView is a personal budgeting app. We do not connect to your bank or any financial
institution. All financial information in the App is entered manually by you. We are based
in the United States.
Information we collect
We only collect what's needed to run the App:
- Account information: your email address, and the name you optionally provide through Sign
in with Apple. We do not store your password — authentication is handled by Google
Firebase, which stores credentials in hashed form that we cannot access.
- Financial information you enter: your savings goal and deadline, monthly income, fixed
bills and debts, transactions (merchant name, amount, date, category, and any notes you
add), and account balances.
- App settings: your time zone (detected automatically) and notification preferences.
- Account identifiers: a Firebase user ID, and an Apple user identifier if you use Sign in
with Apple.
- Microphone / voice (optional): if you use voice entry, your speech is transcribed on your
device only. Audio is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to us or anyone else.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or information from social media.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- Provide the App's features — calculating your daily allowance, tracking expenses against
your goal, and generating your reports, budget, and net-worth views;
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure;
- Send the local reminders you've enabled and power the on-device widgets and Siri "log
expense" shortcut;
- Respond to your support requests.
We do not use your financial information for advertising or sell it.
